When Alfred Barnard visited James Eadie in 1889 he declared Mr. Eadie as the "fortunate possessor" of such an exceptional "ancient Scotch mixture". The blend had been in the family since 1877 but didn't survive beyond 1940. 

HOWEVER

In 2016, the great, great Grandson of James Eadie, Rupert Norman uncovered the ledgers of his ascendent, discovering the recipe of the famous blend. With the help of a modern blender and referencing one of the few surviving bottles the blend was recreated. 

Mr. Eadie of the 19th century paid great attention to the casks that held his whiskies, which included sherry, madeira, marsala among others. Today's James Eadie brand is principally a bottler of small batch and single cask whiskies also featuring these cask treatments as set out by the founder. 

Join James Eadies modern director, Rupert Patrick for an evening of incredible new whiskies, some of which have sold out in the U.K. and Europe since setting sail for Australia.

  • 15ml x Craigellachie 11 years 1st fill Oloroso sherry cask finish 53.6% 
  • 15ml x Strathmill 11 years 1st fill Oloroso sherry butt finish 58.5%
