Whisky & Alement alumni turned Australian Whisky specialist and Owner, Publisher and Editor of Oz Whisky Review, Luke McCarthy returns to the bar January 25 for the ultimate blind tasting.

In Whisky & Alement's second blind tasting in 12 years, through three pairings, Aus whisky and Scotch whisky will face off! An event set to celebrate Robert Burns, the nations Bard, and an excuse for Aussies to celebrate a time of year when the sun is shining and we are looking for a reason not to listen to the Triple J 'Hottest 100'.

Late last year, Luke McCarthy and your Whisky & Alement events manager, Miranda Lidgerwood sat down to a strenuous day of tasting. Their aim? To confuse you! With the power of the Whisky & Alement backbar, and Lukes encyclopaedia of Oz Whisky combined, we have created three pairings which are set to stump the most seasoned palate. On pour you will find newly released Scotch whisky, small batch Australian whiskey, big ABVs and varied ages. Join us in a fun and relaxed evening, with a focus on cask and flavour.

Included:

  • 1x Scottish snack
  • 1x Aussie snack
  • 1x 375ml beer by Blasta Brewing. Western Australia based brewery owned by two Scottish brothers.
