Spirit Thief: Exploration Series, Australia-wide virtual launch

A little about Spirit Thief, straight from the source! 

"In 2015, myself and two industry colleagues decided to mature Tasmanian spirit from the original Redlands Distillery, in heavily charred French Oak Tempranillo and American Oak Shiraz casks from an award-winning  South Australian winemaker I went to school with. These were our pilot casks resulting in only a couple hundred bottles. The experiment worked and demand for more was high. We collaborated further, distilling our own heavily peated single malt spirit at Belgrove Distillery, worked closely with both Shene Estate and Adams Distillery, experimenting further with specific red-wine cask maturations. With some capital investment, we then began looking overseas at what we could ‘steal' and learn about red-wine cask maturations. This has resulted in our six independent releases, now known as Spirit Thief's Exploration Series, and is a precursor for what we aim to do with our own future whisky. • 30ml x New Zealand Whisky Collection 5 year old NZ single malt whisky aged in ex French oak Pinot Noir and American oak bourbon casks by Spirit Thief, 48.1% | 370 Bottles 

• 30ml x Shene Distillery Tasmanian single malt whisky aged in French Oak Grenache casks by Spirit Thief, 55.4% | 250 Bottles (double distilled / not triple like existing Mackey releases) 

• 30ml x Work in Progress aged 21 months cask strength aged in French Oak Tempranillo casks by Spirit Thief Distilling Co. 63.5%

• 30ml x Belgrove Tasmanian single malt whisky, Coastal Peated, finished in French Oak Cabernet Sauvignon cask by Spirit Thief, 48.3% ABV | 290 Bottles
