Bottle your own piece of The Never Ending Cask

The Never Ending cask by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has been faithfully offering it's smoky goodness dram by dram at Whisky & Alement for 13 years now. She's been away for repairs, re-toasting, new heads and filled with hundreds of litres of Smoky, single cask goodness the whole time. 

For only the second time in 13 years we are offering you the opportunity to bottle your own piece of The Never Ending Cask. It's akin to capturing a photo of your children only to look back on how much they've changed over the years. 

Why are we doing this now I hear you ponder down the fibre optic cables of the internet? Well, the answer is that after our most recent top up of the cask (it never gets down below half full) something really special happened. We hit that special spot where a really old tasting whisky, with lots of salty, oaky spicy notes meets a youthful sweet and fragrant peat monster from distillery 53. These two together have brought the cask to taste the best it has ever tasted in 13 years. 

Join us downstairs at the bar for a flight of the cask as it was bottled in 2021, the most recent top-up from distillery 53, and a dram of the new marriage direct from the wood. You'll agree a lot has changed, but the final result is so good you can now take a wee bottle home.

This is a casual experience, but bookings are essential. There will be two sessions, 5pm and 7pm. You're welcome to arrive at any time, but your ticket's allocated time slot will guarantee you a seat with your flight, and a bottle filling slot. The ever-present SMWS team will be around the room mingling and discussing the history of the Never Ending cask if you're interested in hearing more.

• 15ml x The most recent top up SMWS Cask 53....
• 15ml x The Never Ending Cask of May 2026

• 1x 200ml bottle of The Never Ending Cask of May 2026

- 5pm till 6:30pm (we kindly ask that you vacate your seats by 6:30)

Disable Access

Disabled Access is available on the ground level, but is not available for our tasting room. Please contact us before booking and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Booking changes & Cancellations

Change of date is available with a minimum of 7 days notice. 

No cancellations or refunds for any product. Tickets can be gifted to friends or family without notifying the venue.

Terms & Conditions

All participants must be over the legal age of 18 years in order to participate and consume alcohol.

We reserve the right to refuse service without refund, to any persons displaying intoxicated or inappropriate behaviour.

Photography and videography - By purchasing a ticket to an event, you acknowledge that the event may be filmed or photographed and give consent for the film or photographs to be published on any platform by Whisky and Alement or by any other entity used for promotion. Films and photographs may be used occasionally for other marketing purposes.
