The GlenDronach has now been standing proudly in Huntly for 200 hundred years and counting. Now in its most exciting era under the stewardship of Dr. Rachel Barrie, The GlenDronach's flamboyant spirit and focus on Sherry casks is in good hands.

Having begun her career at the Scotch Whisky Research institute in 1992 with guidance from Dr. Jim Swan, Rachel learnt about being a blender on the job. Her first Master blender appointment was in 2003 at The Glenmorangie company and later at Morrison Bowmore in 2011. Rachel's current chapter at Brown Forman and it's newly acquired trio of Scotch distilleries in 2017 is a huge legacy to under take. The Glendronach distillery in particular holds a special position in the hearts of whisky lovers, for it's incredible relationship with Sherry casks. Not only does the spirit type suit maturation in sherry casks but previous and current proprietors of the distillery have been fastidious in the quality of these casks. Building a reputation for incredible depth, balance and character of decades and now centuries, Dr. Rachel Barrie will guide us through how this notoriety is upheld.

Backing up the precedence of quality sherry casks, Brooke and Jules have cracked a bottle from their archive of GlenDronach 15 year old bottled in the 1990's. We'll compare this with the modern iteration of 15 year old and talk about how the industry differs today. Then, moving into whiskies specifically crafted by your host, Dr. Rachel Barrie we'll taste the Master's Anthology and new 30 year old, valued at $2,000.
