The only private tasting in Melbourne with Kanosuke master blender and founder, Yoshitsugu Komasa is coming to Whisky & Alement for an in depth exploration of Kanosuke distillery. The company is known for its continued high calibre of whisky production and innovation towards a distinctly Japanese whisky that focuses on the mellow land from Kagoshima and mellow whisky. This "mellow whisky" is being created through the companies generational knowledge of making shochu.
Komasa San is bringing with him a couple of unique cask samples from the Hioki pot stills, made out of stainless steel and run under vacuum. This process achieves a new level of softness in the spirit but also preserves the rich flavours from grain and ferment. We'll try the latest 2026 edition of Kanosuke's single malt which brings together peated and unpeated spirits along with another single malt cask sample.
If you are a modern Japanese whisky lover then this is an absolute must attend event!
