Single Origin Chocolate & Whisky Masterclass
- Duration: 90 Minutes (approx.)
- Location: Melbourne, VIC
- Product code: P9N6C1
The de-industrialisation of food and drink has emerged as one of the most important trends of the modern era, and whisky is no exception. For this very special event - our first of 2023 - we're delving into the idea of "single origin" and how it applies to both chocolate and whisky, with delicious results.
Chocolate, much like coffee or wine, is directly influenced by the environment in which the cacao beans are grown. In recent years whisky, too, has become focused on the idea of "terroir" - the land and climate where the grains are grown. Join chocolate experts from a local chocolatier along with Whisky & Alement whisky expert Fred Siggins as we explore single origin, bean-to-bar chocolates paired with whiskies made with single origin grains.
We'll get to taste six different single origin chocolates made using cacao beans from regions such as Africa, South East Asia, Central America, Venezuela, Australia and The Caribbean. Each chocolate will be paired with a different premium whisky using grains from a specific single origin source. We'll also finish with a whisky and chocolate cocktail designed for the event by the Whisky & Alement bar team.
