Whisky & Alement's most popular whisky classes are now available for private bookings! Classes have been customised to suit private events. Your guests will be greeted at the door with a complimentary beer or wine as they catchup with fellow attendees before the sit down whisky tasting begins. 

Each guest will taste a wide range of whiskies, accompanied by facts and fun anecdotes. For a relaxed evening of stories and laughs, this is a great way to entertain for a corporate function, relaxed birthday, or just an excuse to catchup with friends.


Venue Capacity (seated): Minimum 15, Maximum 30 guests.

- only available Monday's at 7pm*

* excludes public holidays. Minimum booking notice required is currently 2 weeks
* other times are available on Monday's upon request

Only one class can be presented per group (no mix and matching please)

- Tee-totaller tickets include unlimited soft drink for guests who would like to participate in the event without the tasting board of whiskies.


Suggested timeline: 

7pm Guests arrive and enjoy a complimentary drink. Pre-ordered food be served upon arrival unless otherwise requested.
7.30pm Guests are seated, tasting begins
8.15pm Tasting intermission
8.45pm Tasting resumes
9.30pm Tasting concludes
9pm Event concludes and private bar closes. Guests are welcome to continue downstairs at Whisky & Alement.


Includes:

- 1 x complimentary craft beer or glass of wine on arrival per guest
- All whisky tastings and take-home tasting matt
- 1.5 hour whisky tasting presentation
- 3 hour room hire 
- Private use of Whisky and Alement, the bar will be open to all guests for cash purchases for the duration of your event. Event hosts are welcome to open a tab and set a maximum limit in the case they would like to purchase additional guest food or drink.


Payment:

- 100% payment is due upon confirmation of your booking
- no minimum spends or room hire applicable

Impromptu Whisky Tastings


The bar at Whisky & Alement offers a unique selection of customised whisky flights that are perfect for casual catchups. Open Wednesday through Sunday evenings, the venue caters to bookings of between 1 and 20 guests at one time. For a more casual tasting experience, the team at Whisky & Alement can organise an impromptu whisky tasting for any group with a table booking. Simply book a table, note your request for an impromptu whisky tasting and our bar team will create custom whisky flights for you upon request, recommending whiskies to suit the groups tastes and budget, as well as talking them through the whiskies selected.

How to book an impromptu whisky tasting:
- Book a table 
- Enter your request into the Comments field including:
a) request for an impromptu whisky tasting
b) budget per person (for example $40 for 3 x 15ml tasters will get you an excellent set of whiskies)
c) number of whiskies per person
d) any whisky preferences such as Japanese whisky, unpeated whiskies, or a birthday vintage (no promises, we'll do our best!) 
- It's as easy as that! No cancellation fees and best of all, no 'standard' whisky quality

Impromptu whisky tasting are a great way to catchup with friends for an experience that won't kill the conversation, whilst also tasting some of the best whisky on offer in Australia! Your whisky will be selected by our team from a smorgasbord of newly landed direct imports by our importing arm Indie Whisky Co, whiskies from our long standing cellar collection and the newest whisky releases not available in any major retail outlets.

How do I change my booking date?

We'll be happy to change your booking date provided you contact us more than 14 days prior to your original booking date. To change your booking date, please email info@whiskyandale.com.au with the following information and our team will contact you within 5 business days:

~ Booking reference (beginning with 'R')

~ Booking name (not attendees name)

~ New class dates (click here for a list of available dates)

~ please note, change of dates are available for classes only, not events. Most events are not repeated and therefore are unable to be changed.


Disabled Access

Please note that the tasting room is located on level 1 and accessible only via a single staircase. If you are unable to climb stairs, it may be possible to move the tasting to a wheelchair accessible venue located on the ground level. Please email info@whiskyandale.com.au to confirm if disabled access is available before booking.  


Cancellations

No returns, refunds, cancellations or exchanges on any tickets or tasting packs. If you're unable to attend a class or event, we recommend nominating a friend or family member to take your place! No notification is required for change of attendees name, simply quote the booking name on arrival.

 

Last minute cancellation due to exceptional circumstances

We understand that unexpected events can pop up at the last minute. In the case you are unable to make a class or event and are unable to give 14 days notice prior to your original booking date, please follow the details below:

~ Illness: In the case that the participant is unable to attend due to an illness, please email a medical certificate and your booking reference (beginning with ‘R’) to info@whiskyandale.com.au by no later than 12pm on the day of your class or event booking. Our team will be in touch within 5 working days. All booking cancellations in the case of illness will be offered a full refund or change of booking date minus booking fees and administration fee of $15 per person.

~ Family emergency: In the case of a family emergency, please email your booking reference (beginning with ‘R’) and emergency details to info@whiskyandale.com.au no later than 12pm on the day of your class or event booking. All booking cancellations in the case of a family emergency will be offered a full refund minus booking fees and administration fee of $15 per person.

~ Government enforced lockdown or isolation directive: In the case that the participant has been ordered into a government enforced lockdown or self isolation we are here to work with you. 

a) In the case that your class date falls on a day of government enforced lockdown for the Victorian region, our events team will contact you as quickly as possible following the lockdown announcement. Effected participants will have the option to change their booking date to a future class date, or be issued with a cash voucher that can be used to book a future class, event, or at the bar and bottle shop (not available for online bottle shop purchases). 

b) In the case that the class participant has been ordered into self isolation by order of the Victorian Government, please email info@whiskyandale.com.au with details and our team will do their best to respond within 48 standard business hours. Effected participants will have the option to change their booking date to a future class date, or be issued with a cash voucher that can be used to book a future class, event, or at the bar and bottle shop (not available for online bottle shop purchases).

 

Age Restrictions

All participants must be over the legal age of 18 years in order to participate and consume alcohol.
